Technical SEO that fixes the site, not the reporting.

A lot of SEO retainers produce a monthly PDF and very little else. The report shows impressions rising, the enquiries do not move, and after a year nobody can name a change that was actually made to the site. We work the other way round: find what is holding the site back, fix it in the code, and show you the before and after.

What gets fixed

Technical SEO is unglamorous and mostly finite. There is a set of things that stop Google understanding or trusting a site, and once they are fixed they stay fixed. That is a very different proposition from an open-ended content retainer, and we would rather sell you the version with an end date.

Local search is a separate problem

Ranking for a term nationally and appearing in the map results for your own town are two different systems with two different sets of rules. Local results are driven by a verified Google Business Profile, consistent business details wherever they appear online, genuine reviews, and pages that actually mention the places you serve.

Most small business sites we look at have none of the structured data that connects the website to the business listing, which means Google is working it out by inference. Fixing that is usually a morning's work and it is the highest-return item on the list for a business selling within thirty miles of its front door.

We build our own tools for this

SnapReport and PulseCheck came out of doing this work and wanting better instruments. SnapReport audits a URL and produces a shareable breakdown in seconds. PulseCheck watches a site continuously and tells you when it slows down or falls over, which is how you find out that a plugin update cost you a second of load time in week three rather than in the quarterly review.

Both are free to try. If you would rather run the audit yourself before speaking to anyone, that is a reasonable way to start.

How it runs

01

Full audit

Crawl, speed test on mobile, index coverage, structured data, and a look at who is actually beating you and why. You get the findings whether or not you continue.

02

Prioritised list

Ordered by likely effect against effort, with an honest note where the effect is uncertain. Some items are worth ignoring.

03

Fixes in the code

We make the changes ourselves, or hand your developer a specification precise enough to act on without a meeting.

04

Measure

Search Console and PulseCheck, with a plain summary of what moved. If nothing moved, that is what the summary says.

Tools we built for this work

Working with a studio in Cheshire

We are based in Cheshire and a good share of our clients are within an hour of us: Chester, Warrington, Northwich, Macclesfield, Crewe, and across into Manchester and Liverpool. That matters less than it once did, because most of the work happens over video calls and a shared staging link. It does mean we can spend a morning in your office at the start of a project watching how the current process really works, which is usually where the requirements you did not think to mention turn up.

We work with businesses anywhere in the UK. If you are further away, nothing about the process changes except that the first meeting is on a screen.

Common questions

How much does technical SEO cost?

A full audit with a prioritised fix list is a fixed fee of a few hundred pounds, and you keep the findings regardless of what you do next. Implementation is quoted separately once we know what is on the list, because the work varies enormously between a well-built site and one that needs rebuilding.

How long before it makes a difference?

Technical fixes tend to show up in Search Console within two to six weeks, because you are removing an obstacle rather than building authority. Competitive ranking gains take longer and depend on content and links as much as on the code.

Do you do link building?

No. We do not buy links and we will not sell you a package of them, because it is a risk to your site with an unpredictable payoff. Links you earn from being genuinely useful are the ones that hold.

Can you work with our existing developer?

Yes, and it often works out cheaper. We audit, write the specification precisely enough to implement, and verify it afterwards. Your developer keeps control of the codebase.

Our site is on Wix or Squarespace. Is there any point?

Some. Titles, descriptions, structured data, heading structure, image sizes and internal linking are all improvable on any platform. The hard limits are on speed and page control, and we will tell you at audit stage if the platform itself is the thing capping you.

The other three things we do
